Dr. Casey Cunningham is Senior Scientific Advisor at Santé Ventures and a co-founder of Terapio Corporation, where he serves as Vice President and Medical Director. Prior to founding Terapio, he was the Associate Director of the Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center and a clinical oncologist with the US Oncology network. The Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center performs early phase clinical trials and Dr. Cunningham was the principal investigator on numerous trials, with a particular emphasis on gene and cell-based therapies.

Dr. Cunningham received his bachelor of science degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He did his medical residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and his hematology/oncology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. After fellowship, he remained on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and was a founding member of the Division of Experimental Medicine at the Brigham & Women's Hospital where he did basic and clinical research for many years. He is the author of over 70 publications.

Dr. Cunningham has also served on the Scientific Advisory Board or Clinical Advisory Boards of several biotech and pharmaceutical companies including Genzyme, Arqule, Point Therapeutics, Evacyte, and others, and has acted as a technical consultant to several venture and equity firms.
