Dr. Walter P Dyck
currently serves as senior advisor to the Temple
Health & Bioscience Economic Development
District and is Professor Emeritus at Texas A&M
Health Science Center. He has 38 years
experience as a physician, educator, clinical
investigator and academic administrator. His
research publications cover a wide range of
interests in gastroenterology, with a special
focus on pancreatic secretion and disease.
Professional activities include visiting
professorships, serving on NIH Study Sections
and directing multiple post graduate courses for
the American College of Physicians. Honors
include Best Clinical Physician and Teacher
Award given by students and house staff, the
Laureate Award of the American College of
Physicians and the Walter P. Dyck Lectureship in
Gastroenterology established by Texas A&M/Scott
& White. Dyck holds an MD degree from the
University of Kansas. His clinical and research
post-doctoral training was at Henry Ford
Hospital in Detroit, the Universities of Zurich
and Toronto and the Mount Sinai School of
Medicine in New York. Prior to retiring from A&M
Dyck served for many years as Director of the
Division of Gastroenterology and for the last
eight years as Executive Associate Dean of the
College of Medicine and Chief Academic Officer
for Scott & White Memorial Hospital. |
