Todd Fruchterman, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Todd Fruchterman is the former Senior Vice President of Research and Development and Chief Technology Officer for Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (NYSE: KCI).  Headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, KCI is a leading global medical technology company devoted to the discovery, development, manufacture and marketing of innovative, high-technology medical therapies for the wound care, tissue regeneration and therapeutic support system markets.  KCI operates in more than 20 countries with 7,000 employees and annual revenues of nearly $2 billion.

In addition to his role on the Executive Committee of KCI, Todd oversaw the company's global research, development, new technology, product portfolio, and regulatory initiatives.  He was also responsible for new product and technology development from ideation through commercialization.

Prior to joining KCI, Todd served in a number of research and product development roles at Johnson & Johnson.  Most recently, he was responsible for the Worldwide Biosurgical development portfolio at the company's Ethicon Division, and served on the management board of Johnson & Johnson Wound Management.

Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Todd directed medical and strategic marketing at Schering-Plough Corporation for the worldwide hepatitis franchise.

Todd has been recognized for his research and academic achievements by numerous institutions and societies.  He was recently named to the Hall of Fame for Science and Technology by the San Antonio Technology Accelerator Initiative, and was named to the San Antonio Business Journal's "40 under 40: San Antonio’s Rising Stars" list.
