Mr. Cobbs is a Partner and Managing Director of Signet Healthcare Partners and has more than twenty five years experience in the health sciences and biotechnology industries. Signet (or the Fund) is focused on diversified healthcare investing, primarily serving as lead investor to expansion stage companies engaged in specialty pharmaceuticals, medical devices and the pharma services industries. In general, Signet targets investments opportunities where its team can capitalize on operational efficiencies and revenue expansion through business development activities and product strategies, including life cycle management. The Fund invests globally with approximately 20% of funds committed to entities domiciled in Europe and Asia.

Mr. Cobbs presently serves on the board of directors of Cedarburg Pharmaceuticals, and of BioJect Medical Technologies (NASDAQ, BJCT). He is a board observer to Optiscan Biomedical Corporation and Functional Genetics, Inc. Mr. Cobbs previously served as the Assistant Director of Technology Development at the University of Texas – M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, in the Houston Medical Center. During his tenure at M.D. Anderson, he helped form two molecular therapy companies: Introgen Therapeutics (Nasdaq: INGN), a pioneer in gene-based therapies for a variety of cancers based in Austin, Texas and Rgene Therapeutics, which was sold to Targeted Genetics, Inc. (Nasdaq: TGEN).

Mr. Cobbs’ senior management experience includes Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Quantitative Diagnostic Laboratories, a cancer diagnostic and image analysis company based in Chicago, IL (sold to Ventana Medical Systems, now Roche Diagnostics) and Chairman and acting CEO of BioJect Medical Technologies (BJCT). Mr. Cobbs received his M.B.A. from the University of Houston.
