Andrew A. Nat, Jr. is the Executive Director the Texas Life Science Center. Previously he was a Principal and Chief Financial Officer at Vesalius Ventures, a Houston based venture capital accelerator specializing in medical informatics and technology.
Andrew has over 25 years of executive experience in investments, corporate finance, strategic planning, business development, and operations. His expertise includes sourcing, evaluating, structuring, and negotiating investments, as well as working closely with the management of portfolio companies in developing and implementing corporate strategies.
Andrew worked in companies ranging in size from start-up ventures to the Fortune 50. Prior companies include: BP, Edison Mission Energy, FPL Group, and PaineWebber. Andrew has worked in North and South America, Asia, Europe, and Australia.
Andrew is on the Board of Directors of the Houston Private Equity Association and the Biotechnology Advisory Board of the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. He was Corporate Secretary for the Nanotechnology Foundation of Texas, a non-profit research initiative. Andrew was also an Adjunct Professor in the University of Houston System, where he taught Finance to MBA and undergraduate students.
Andrew has a BA from Columbia University and an MBA from Yale University.
