Charles Tate is Chairman and Founder of Capital Royalty L.P., a private equity firm targeting investments in the healthcare industry.

Tate serves on The University Cancer Foundation Board of Visitors for M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and is Chairman of the External Advisory Committee of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. He also serves on the Industry and Community Affiliates Committee of The Academy of Medicine, Engineering and Science of Texas.

In September 2004, Tate was appointed a Director of The University of Texas Investment Management Co. (“UTIMCO”). He also serves on The Robert A. Welch Foundation Board of Directors.

Tate received his B.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin and his M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He was elected to The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business Hall of Fame in 2003. Additionally, in 2007, he was elected a Distinguished Alumnus of The University of Texas. He also currently serves on the Board of Overseers of the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
